Old Town Chicago Roots

Opened in 1969 in Chicago's historic Old Town, Fireplace Inn began as a dream of brothers Jim and Dick Novak to serve 'real' barbecue with heart and fire. At a time when the neighborhood was bursting with folk music, comedy and cultural change, they built a place where locals, performers and visitors could gather, eat great ribs and feel at home.

Today, still family‑owned and operated, Fireplace Inn carries forward the original spirit: slow‑smoked ribs with our signature sweet full‑flavor sauce, a lively sports‑bar vibe, and food made for sharing late into the night. Whether you're here for dinner, drinks after the show or a game on TV, you're part of the tradition.
